Open the En Pointe bow kit and lay out the contents: one long pink satin ribbon, one heart embellishment, and one alligator clip.
Hold the ribbon in your left hand using your pinky, ring, and middle fingers, leaving about 14 inches of fabric hanging.
Wrap the ribbon over your thumb and behind your index finger.
Repeat this motion three more times to form three loops on your thumb and two on your index finger.
Keep your fingers as wide as possible while wrapping.
Take the remaining ribbon and thread it up, over, and under — back through the bottom hole.
Flip your hand so your palm faces you.
Thread the tail up, over, and through the middle loop, entering left to right.
Flip your hand back over and tighten the knot by pulling down to your left.
Adjust the loops and tails so the bow is even and symmetrical.
Lay the bow with the less-attractive side facing down.
Attach the heart gem to the center of the bow and press firmly to secure.
Peel the backing from the alligator clip and stick it to the back of the bow. Press firmly.

You should have:
3 pieces of black velvet ribbon
1 black velvet centerpiece
8 velcro circles
1 sheet of pearl embellishments
1 piece of double-sided tape
1 alligator clip
Fold the longest piece of black velvet ribbon in half to find the center crease.
Stick the double-sided tape to the center crease of the ribbon and press down.
Remove the tape backing. Fold and stick each end of the ribbon to the center tape to create loops.
Wrap the small velcro-backed piece of black ribbon around the center. Velvet side should face out, velcro in the back.
Align it in the middle of the loops.
Take the other two ribbon pieces (the tails) and stick a scratchy-sided velcro dot to the velvet side, at the top of each ribbon.
Repeat for both tails.
Add a soft-sided velcro dot to each scratchy dot.
Stick the tails to the back of the loops, slightly off-center.
Adjust angle of the tails by unsticking and reattaching if needed.
Add pearl embellishments anywhere on the bow. Press to secure.
Peel the backing off the alligator clip and stick it to the back center of the bow. Press to secure.
The clip can be flipped to wear on either side of the head.

Stack the two folded loops on top of each other, seams facing in.
Scrunch the loops together and hold with one hand.
Find the center of the long ribbon (the tails) and place it under the scrunched loops. Scrunch together.
Wrap the Velcro (scratchy side down) around the center to hold everything together.
Fluff the bow.
Choose the best-looking side to be the front.
Wrap the purple center piece around the bow and connect it in the back.
Lay the bow good-side up. Add the embellishment to the front and press down to secure.
Flip the bow over and stick on the clip. Press firmly.
(Optional) Flip the Velcro clip to wear it on either side of your head.
